Getting Commercial Pilot License

 
Privileges and Limitations
Commercial helicopter pilot license allows you to fly a helicopter and carry passengers and baggage for compensation or hire.
 
Eligibility Requirements
‘ Be at least 18 years of age
‘ Hold a private pilot helicopter certificate
‘ Hold an FAA medical certificate
‘ Pass an FAA written examination
‘ Pass an FAA oral and flight test
‘ Obtain 150 hours of flight time of 100 hours are to be logged as pilot-in-command
 
Aeronautical Experience
Must log at least 150 hours flight time as a pilot that consist of at least:
‘ 50 hours must be in helicopters
‘ 100 hours of pilot-in-command, which includes at least
@E35 hours in helicopters; and
@E10 hours in cross-country flight in helicopters
‘ 20 hours of training, which includes at least
@E10 hours of instrument training in an aircraft;
@EOne cross-country flight of at least 2 hours in an helicopter in day VFR conditions
@EOne cross-country flight of at least 2 hours in an helicopter in night VFR conditions
‘

10 hours of solo flight time in a helicopter
@EOne cross-country flight with landings at a minimum of three points
@E5 hours in night VFR condition with 10 takeoffs and landings

 
Commercial Pilot Add-on Helicopter
‘ 20 hours of flight training in a helicopter
‘ 10 hours of solo in a helicopter
