Getting Commercial Pilot License

Privileges and Limitations
Commercial helicopter pilot license allows you to fly a helicopter and carry passengers and baggage for compensation or hire.

Eligibility Requirements

■	Be at least 18 years of age
■	Hold a private pilot helicopter certificate
■	Hold an FAA medical certificate
■	Pass an FAA written examination
■	Pass an FAA oral and flight test
■	Obtain 150 hours of flight time of 100 hours are to be logged as pilot-in-command

Aeronautical Experience
Must log at least 150 hours flight time as a pilot that consist of at least:

■	50 hours must be in helicopters
■	100 hours of pilot-in-command, which includes at least 　・35 hours in helicopters; and 　・10 hours in cross-country flight in helicopters
■	20 hours of training, which includes at least 　・10 hours of instrument training in an aircraft; 　・One cross-country flight of at least 2 hours in an helicopter in day VFR conditions 　・One cross-country flight of at least 2 hours in an helicopter in night VFR conditions
■	10 hours of solo flight time in a helicopter 　・One cross-country flight with landings at a minimum of three points 　・5 hours in night VFR condition with 10 takeoffs and landings

Commercial Pilot Add-on Helicopter

■	20 hours of flight training in a helicopter
■	10 hours of solo in a helicopter
